[10] Madhav Apte

Madhav Apte made his debut against Pakistan in November ,1952 & played 7 matches for India. His stat reads – 542 runs in 13 innings with an average of 49.27 – 3 half centuries – 1 century including a highest score of 163* against West Indies at Port of Spain. He also took 3 wickets in test matches. He served India for less than a year & played his last match in April, 1953.

But he never hit a six during his short international career. He is 10th in the list by scoring 542 runs without hitting a single six.

[9] Syed Mushtaq Ali

First Indian player to score a overseas test century, Syed Mushtaq Ali made his debut against England in 1934 & played 11 matches in his 18 years long career. In his 20 innings he scored 612 runs with the help of 3 half centuries – 2 centuries & with an average of 32.21. Like Madhav Apte, Mushtaq Ali also took 3 wickets in his test career.

He is 9th in the list by scoring 612 runs.

[8] Erapalli Prasanna

One of the member of India’s spin quartet (Erapalli Prasanna, Srinivas Venkataraghavan, Bhagwat Chandrasekhar and Bishen Singh Bedi) , Erapalli Prasanna made his debut in 1962. This right arm off-break bowler played 49 test matches for India & grabbed 189 wickets to his name. Erapalli Prasanna batted in 84 innings & 735 runs came from his willow. He never scored a 50, his best score was 37.

He is 8th in this list by scoring 735 runs.

[7] Rusi Modi

Rusi Modi played for India from 1946 to 1952. He played 10 matches & scored 736 runs including of 6 half centuries & 1 century with an average of 46.00

He is 7th in the list by scoring 736 runs.

[6] Ishant Sharma

Ishant Sharma is the only active player in this list. He also has the record of playing 2nd most matches without hitting a single 6 in international (Allan Border is in the top place with 236 matches). Since he made his debut in 2007 he has played 191 matches till date & has scored 800 runs (Test-720, ODI-72, T20I- 8) including a half century.

He is 6th in the list by scoring 800 runs.

[5] Vijay Merchant

The founder of the Bombay School of Batsmanship, Vijay Merchant played 10 matches for India from 1933 to 1951. He contributed 859 runs from his willow including 3 centuries & half centuries with an average of 24.38

He is 5th in the list by scoring 859 runs.

[4] Lala Amarnath

First Indian to score a test century, Lala Amarnath made his debut in 1933 & made his debut in 24 matches for India till 1952. He scored 878 runs including 1 hundred & 4 half centuries.

He is 4th in the list by scoring 878 runs

[3] Ashok Mankad

Ashok Mankad, son of Vinoo Mankad, played 22 matches for India from 1969 to 1978. He scored 991 test runs including 6 half centuries & scored 44 runs in his only odi match.

He is 3rd in the list by scoring 1035 runs.

[2] Anshuman Gaekwad

He played 40 test & 15 odi matches for India from 1975 to 1985 & scored 1985 runs in test including 2 centuries & 269 runs in odi with the help of 1 half century.

He is 2nd in the list by scoring 2254 runs.

[1] Vijay Manjrekar

Vijay Manjrekar is the player to score most international runs without hitting a single six in the world. He represented India in 55 test matches from 1952 to 1965 & scored 3208 runs including 15 half centuries & 7 centuries.

So, Vijay Manjrekar is top on this list by scoring 3208 runs.
